the political and economic principles of Lenin, developed from Marxism and forming the basis of the communist policies and practices of the former Soviet Union. Leninism stresses the belief that, although communism is historically inevitable as Marx thought, it must be guided by a well-disciplined core of “professional revolutionaries.”
